• STRUCTURAL DESIGN
We integrate the design of the structure and of the architectural forms to produce a balanced architectural & structural design. Ideally the structure will be the architecture and vice versa. As professionals we are published in scientific journals, serve as Editors in engineering journals and serve in committees of the codes applied in the nation.
• SUSTAINABLE/RESILIENT/GREEN DESIGN
Since 2012 Avant-Garde Engineering has been a Charter member of the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure. The ISI is the institute we chose to be affiliated to as it applies a system that evaluates the sustainability and resilience of the proposed project to the site and to the environment as opposed to focusing on the building itself only. Within the building design special emphasis is given on passive energy control.
• DESIGN FOR INVESTING
A project will make the place better than the pre-existing condition. In order for that to happen, the investors will have to have a return. We evaluate the feasibility and the returns a project will have for the owners whether that is a commercial or a residential project. A residential project should bring a higher value to the owner at a later stage and a house should not exceed the value the site can justify. In the case of commercial projects, the function of a commercial building should provide passive income to the investors but that income needs to be sustainable. Sustainability of the income is not contingent upon the application of solar panels. What is pivotal is the potential the design and the environment will provide for the businesses of the future tenants/users to thrive.
